DoE’s Wattmeter App

Screen Shot 2015-08-20 at 7.48.25 PMThe Department of Energy created the Wattmeter App to assist electricity consuming households in MM. It offers specific advice on how to reduce the consumption of 36 types of home appliances including electric airpots, bread toasters, flatirons, electric fans, etc.  You may be able to request for additional appliances data by contacting wattmeters directly.

It has the energy sense and save Cents feature which dishes out  practical information on how to reduce electric bills. This is aimed mostly for homeowners but other SME sectors (small guesthouses, restaurants, spa, laundry services, etc.) too. It has a consumption calculator for Aircon, refrigerators, freezer, TV and home theatre. The calculator asks for the appliance category, brand, model wattage and hour used before calculating the cost of consumption.

The App is only for Android and can be downloaded free from Wattmeter.
